Neanderthal have always been thought of as having become extinct due to competition with more modern humans. But recent studies have determined that neanderthal genomes are present in many modern humans indicating that they also integrated into the rest of the human society. This confirmed the reason behind there being certain groups of people with neanderthal features that could not easily reproduce with other groups of people, this has been an unconfirmed rumor for a couple of years.
